Sources say Johannes Heidecke, head of OpenAI's security systems, informed his team this week he will leave amid a company reorganization to merge the safety and research divisions. An internal memo from Chief Research Officer Mark Chen says the safety team will report to Mia Glaese, vice president for research and integration, who will serve as vice president for research and safety; former security lead Saachi Jain will be acting head of security systems and report to Glaese.
