GM (GM.N) battery head Kurt Kelty said the automaker’s future EVs may not adopt low-cost LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries. A Tennessee plant will begin producing LFP cells for energy-storage systems this month; those cells are not intended for electric vehicles.
